We can understand the grace of God only if we realize how weak we are!
Paul realized and asked Jesus to vanish his weakness.
And he (Jesus) said unto me (Paul), My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness
2 Corinthians 12:9
From the above statement, God expects the below from us.
- Admit you're weak
- Receive the Grace
David knows that he's weak, so he claimed God as his strength, in Psalm 18:1 - "I will love thee, O Lord, my strength."
A true Christian never thinks he's strong by himself, but by the grace of the Lord.
What is Grace?
Consider the below illustration to understand.
In an amusing park, a man was standing in a line and waiting to buy a ticket. On his turn, the cashier asked to pay ten rupees. But the man had only eight rupees.
In this scenario, if the cashier allows the man inside by excusing the unpaid two rupees, then it's called Corruption. But if the cashier sums up the given eight rupees to ten by adding two from his own pocket then it is called Grace.
Similarly, the Grace of Jesus bought heaven's entry ticket for you on the cross.
We are sinners and sin is our ultimate weakness. But, Jesus bored our weakness on the cross.
Come to the cross and look at the cruel wounds of Jesus Christ. He's ready to exchange his strength for your weakness.
Grace is Free
God thought to give us his grace in his mind. That was the only reason we got it. Not because of our own deeds, righteousness, etc
If God himself said, "My grace is sufficient for you", then for what we have to grieve?
You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2 Timothy 2:1
In Christ, we have strength. The key to unlocking it is the cross.
In your weakness, cry out to the Lord, pray and get all you need. Grace!
